Welcome to the last Londoner’s Diary of the week. First up Courtney Love tells us America’s culture of attacking its own celebrities is so hard for Brits to understand that she has stopped trying to explaining Britney Spears’s terrible situation to Europeans. Also the Second Shelf, a bookshop dedicated to rare books by and about women, is leaving its Soho site after two-and-a-half years. Matt Vickers tells us his fellow MPs are “gagging to get a piece” of the chicken parmo he has successfully campaigned for in parliamentary canteens. In SW1A we hear Matt Hancock hasn’t had enough time to train with long runs ahead of the marathon but he’s feeling confident he will finish it and Rosena Allin-Khan has helpful advice for those who ever feel down.
