13 pictures of old buses in Darlington and County Durham

THE Aycliffe & District Bus Preservation Society is restoring a 1960s double decker that used to belong to Darlington Transport Corporation, but it has a blank advertising board down the side. In the 1960s, The Northern Echo was a big advertiser on buses across the region, and last week Ian Wiggett from the society asked if we had any pictures that showed what those adverts looked like. The photos in our archive did not really help, but readers have been queuing up, like buses, to assist.
